Company Formation, Launching, and Scaling. Expa was started by Garrett Camp, founder of Uber, to develop and launch new companies as part of our venture studio. Everyone on the team is a former founder and operator incubating new ideas. In 2016, we launched an accelerator, a community workspace, built an operating network of builders who were looking for their next idea to work alongside us in the office, and led investments into companies outside of the studio focused on Pre-Seed and Seed. Investments and incubations Include: Current (neobank), Metabase (infra tooling), Radar (geofencing infa), Statespace (Gaming + Neurotech), Kit (Ecomm, acq by Patreon), Ando (cloud kitchen, acq by UberEats), Sleeper (next level fantasy leagues), Dovetale (acq by Shopify), Interseller (acq by Greenhoouse), SuperHi

Loop was a community-based commerce platform designed to help residents of apartment buildings and dense urban neighborhoods coordinate purchases, deliveries, and services. By aggregating demand at the hyperlocal level, Loop enabled neighbors to access exclusive discounts from local businesses through shared logistics and volume-based efficiencies. Our long-term vision was to evolve Loop from a consumer-facing platform into the infrastructure layer for local commerce, or the operating system for local economies. By first enabling lower customer acquisition costs through demand aggregation and hyper-targeted delivery zones, we laid the groundwork for a shared logistics and marketing backbone that local businesses could plug into. With Loop as the connective layer, local businesses could collaborate on promotions, bundle products or services across storefronts, share delivery fleets, and even negotiate with suppliers collectively giving small businesses the network effects of scale. v1: The Private Social Network for Buildings: inspired by the hyperlocal trust dynamics of Nextdoor but reimagined for single-building communities v2. Local Services Marketplace: We introduced a way for local service providers (cleaning, grocery and goods delivery, pet care, home maintenance, tailoring, beauty, etc.) to offer discounts when appointments and drop-offs could be grouped by building. Platform transactions exceeded $500K+ in less than <6mo. v.3 B2B Social Network for Local Businesses: an unexpected trend emerged where businesses were using Loop not just to reach customers, but to connect with each other. We built a parallel private network for SMBs to collaborate on offers, share operational best practices, and access pooled resources (staff/supplies/logistics). Grew to a network of 700+ local businesses.

Early employee (<10) of the first cross-platform leasing, asset management and marketing platform for the commercial real estate industry. I helped launch our product in 7 new geographies across the country, and worked closely with the Head of Product and CTO to synthesizing and distilling user feedback into actionable requests for our Engineering team. Launched during the financial crisis when real estate asset managers were looking for new and innovative ways to lease and sell office space, v1 of the product was an online marketing tool and listing marketplace leveraging video software that was replacing physical, print flyers used within the industry. Using video, distribution, and real-time analytics, the technology helped users create leasing opportunities and manage the entire deal process from start to finish. The product evolved to include a suite of software tools to manage real estate transactions and tenant relationships, and today the larger platform gives asset owners and managers forward-looking market data to inform asset and investment strategies.
VTS is a real estate CRM software company bringing together landlords, brokers, and tenants to make deals happen.
