- Founded a tech-driven company that leverages machine learning and custom-built hardware to automate the Lego sorting process. Pioneered the end-to-end stack, from developing a machine learning model to implementing a React/Next.js-based UI. - Built a web scraper to scrape the main after-market for genuine lego parts to validate the profitability of business before starting. Scraped both individual sellers as well as the entire market for historic pricing data. Built using Node.js and Google’s Puppeteer library with headless Chrome. - Fine-tune trained the Inception V3 vision model to recognize 750 unique Lego parts at 90%+ accuracy. Built with Python in Google Colab using Tensorflow library. - Built an image collection pipeline for the real world training data needed to train the machine learning model. Built with React.js, Redux, Firebase, Google Cloud Storage, C++, Arduino IDE - Designed and assembled custom hardware, including custom built conveyors, vibratory feeders, and CNC sorters, creating a fully automated sorting pipeline. Built with OnShape 3D modeling software, C++, Arduino IDE - Engineered a real-time monitoring system and UI for running the automated Lego sorting machine, fully integrated with the machine learning backend. Built with React, Next.js, Zustand, Firebase, C++, Arduino IDE - Scaled the speed of the sorting from 240 parts/hr to 1000 parts/hr. Grew the business to include two employees, expanding the sorted inventory month-over-month to 500,000 Lego pieces in inventory
