North American Venture Manager

Senior North American member of the team at Shell Ventures (SV), Shell's corporate Venture Capital fund. SV invests in technology companies focused on the oil & gas and future energy (clean/green tech) markets, as well as IT and Digital technologies that support them. SV acts as a strategic partner and makes minority investments in select technology companies, including Shell technology spin-outs, and also acts as an LP in some externally managed venture capital funds. Carl also headed Shell's Digital investment fund and investment areas of interest and expertise included: intersection of energy/O&G and software, incl. cloud, big data, AI/ML, 3D printing, sensor technologies, condition monitoring, exploration software, advanced mobility, wireless and wireline communications and services (hardware and software), and security software.
