Istuary Innovation Group was doing technology products from semiconductors to software and systems in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Storage, Networking, Video, IOT . Istuary's Innovation labs are in Vancouver, Waterloo, Toronto and Vancouver. I was running the Ottawa Innovation lab and our North American market and product management. Key role was driving the business in the area of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Vehicles, HPC and Data Centers and associated chip level Processing solutions with accelerated computing. In my role I was also active linking Istuary groups to Canadian VC's for future exits/spin offs.
Co Chair High Performance Computing Group
2014 - 2017
Working internationally with some of the smartest minds in the hyperscale data center, supercomputing and HPC market I co chair this global industry organization's HPC group to drive the acceleration of open designs for low latency computing. The Open Compute Project was started by facebook to create open hardware designs for the data center in the same model as Linux for software.
Director of Strategic Marketing - Systems Solutions
2015 - 2016
The system comes from the silicon. Every day we use consumer, communications and computing systems built around silicon innovation. The silicon we make connects things together in systems and helps time and synchronize everything. So I'm taking our interconnect and timing products and helping our customer and partners to innovate and win in the market with systems built around the semiconductor technology that our innovators come up with. Every time we make a 4G call anywhere in the world, the data passes through IDT RapidIO products. My role is to build on that and help our customers create solutions that leverage IDT products. Some things that I do: Outbound systems level marketing of IDT technology Strategic Partners and alliances at the semicondcutor and Systems level Tell the story at events and speaking engagements and lead the market on what is possible with our innovation Create systems, platforms, reference designs and ODM solutions that you will benefit from today and tomorrow. In doing so, make the jobs of my sales peer easier. If our customers are successful with IDT technology, then my sales peers have an easier job. Help our peers at the Opencompute Project by co leading the High Performance Computing initiative bringing the innovation for the wireless industry to the data center. Today the innovation we do in High Performance Computing will filter down to mainstream computing in the future. Market the innovations from RapidIO.org and partner companies across the industry by leveraging IDT's top 25 global horsepower to get the message out internationally Most importantly bring people together...through partnership networks to create systems solutions and then when those system solutions are deployed we all use them to make calls, share data, share video, social network, analyse information and make the world closer-better-faster and more open. Democratizing computing today, by proliferating the innovation for tomorrow.
Principal Product Manager
2006 - 2014
Responsible for product management and marketing of IDT's RapidIO product portfolio and for PCIe to RapidIO interconnect products Includes ownership of product line P&L and market penetration/growth strategy. In this role, I set the outbound marketing strategy for the group, drive product launches , partnership programs, lead customer engagements in wireless, High Performance Computing, imaging and military/critical embedded markets. One of my key roles is the penetration for IDT products into HPC, Supercomputing and Data Center. As part of this I co chair the HPC organization at the Open Compute project (www.opencompute.org). I have also been instrumental in growing new marketing, formerly chairman of the RapidIO Trade Association Marketing Council, an industry standards body that drives this interconnect technology: https://www.linkedin.com/company/rapidio-trade-association. Prior to the acquisition, by IDT I drove Tundra's RapidIO program from early market adoption phase to mass market deployment in the wireless segment with my responsibility for Product Marketing of RapidIO. Today, we have 100% market share of 4G worldwide in base stations and 100% of the 3G market in China (starting from zero). I have extensive knowledge of wireless and embedded computing markets in Europe China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea. I am an excellent communicator, public speaker, team player and visionary with a strategic view on how to position and promote products for growth in new markets. I have great customer facing skills and ask myself daily, "what did I do today to add end customer value" and "did I give more value to others than I took away today".
