We pioneered the world's first mobile-phone equity loan. Traditionally, only exclusive assets like houses, cars, or crypto are accepted as collateral, limiting access to secured credit. Brelo democratizes this by allowing lenders to accept smartphones as collateral, promoting financial inclusion. Our tech enables remote and automatic approval of users' devices in real-time, locking them in case of non-payment to incentivize repayment. If needed, our partners can collect and pay for the smartphone, reducing losses from defaults. 2019-2021: Issued the world's first secured credit offering using used smartphones as collateral. Served 300k customers and released millions of dollars in loans with default rates 3.7x lower than unsecured loans. 2022-2023: Successfully launched the world's first API-connected infrastructure to secured credit products by using user's smartphones as collateral. Our B2B platform enables lenders to mitigate credit risk in just 7 days by providing a simple and scalable solution. Notable customers include Banco PAN (20M customers) and MercadoPago (45M customers). As CEO, I was in charge of several areas/efforts: Strategy, Fundraising, Product, Operations, Credit Underwriting, and Collections.
