With no funding, my friend and I launched and scaled a website that in 6 weeks became the 20th most trafficked website in the world. Honed my ability to rate people over a period of 8 years. We were also the first online service to use the now dominant double opt-in dating model (where both people have to approve of each other before being able to communicate).

Website I started with my brother Tony, built as a hobby to promote the adoption of webservices (and particularly the SOAP protocol) in the early days of Web 2.0. This led to the creation of HOTorNOT, which was conceived during a brainstorm about killer app consumer web services.
