BlockFold was acquired by Fireblocks in August 2023!

    Successful entry into US-based start-up accelerator. Raised USD$150k to explore on/off-ramp product opportunities in the blockchain space. Identified several opportunities but given the funding climate (interest rates up, liquidity down) and an honest reflection of our venture scale aspirations, decided to return 50 cents on the dollar to investors and wind down the company.

Our mission was to help people move seamlessly through the real world by starting with a mobile experience as easy as "push a button, get a ride". We solved for a growing number of Uber ride options and general friction across the mobile checkout flow. Impact: 1/ Delivered US$242M in incremental Gross Billings in 2019 2/ Shipped globally an evolution to the "Ride Selection" experience, making it easier for people to find, compare and configure ride options 3/ Platformized this experiential & technical stack to help teams rapidly launch new rides, e.g. Bike, Scooter, Transit, Copter 4/ Created an operating playbook to facilitate collaboration with the 10+ teams plugging into our platform 5/ Built the Request Group from 4 engineers into 30+ talents and 3 teams 6/ Recruited two high performing PMs from an APM class of 10; each of whom had 100+ opportunities across Rider, Driver, Marketplace, Eats

    Launched Swarm App from conception to app store in 5 months with a team of 8 engineers. Migrated 70% of users from the Foursquare app. Launched “Swarm Messages” to facilitate meeting up with friends. Identified improvements to our best viral channel by digging into Facebook’s OpenGraph API. Learnt from a variety of growth experiments including: sign up with phone number, message friends in address book, and check-in reminders. Created a Team Wiki with more than 70 pieces of analysis.     Hustled like hell to build the first version of Foursquare’s local discovery feature in time for SXSW 2011. Implemented a variety of features including push notifications, home screen widgets, photos for tips, and a way to add places to Foursquare’s venue database. Set up a Continuous Integration Server for employees to access the latest alpha builds. Wrote scripts to detect issues with language files and image resources. Mentored an Android Intern.
