FORWARD.one is a VC firm focused on deeptech hardware innovations. My main activities are deal making and portfolio management, including board representation. My experience and interest lie in complex hardware propositions, in particular technologies relating to the future of compute. I further support our portfolio companies in all aspects of building and executing a robust IP strategy, given my background as patent attorney.

In 2019, I was sworn in as patent attorney and continued to represent tech companies in both prosecution and litigation matters.

HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER is a top-tier intellectual property law firm with teams of seasoned litigators and technical experts. During the first 3 years at HRM, I was part of the litigation team who represented ASML and Zeiss in their global patent dispute against Nikon, while studying to pass legal exams to qualify as registered patent attorney. Beyond litigation, I have also drafted and defended patent applications for various leading tech corporations.

I have conducted research at the group of John Marohn, in which we manufactured and tested a new type of force sensor to be used in magnetic resonance force microscopy (MRFM). This project was supported by a scholarship from the LUF International Study Fund.

Being part of the Tjerk Oosterkamp group, I have researched quantum behavior in copper samples at extreme low temperatures. For this we used an emerging imaging technique (called "MRFM") which acquires MRI images at the atomic scale.

Lugus is an organisation for startups in Leiden, and a tangible result from an earlier project initiated by Wouter Bruins and me ("Vrijplaats Leiden") to stimulate entrepreneurship among students. One year after its establishment, Lugus counted over 100 members and several sponsors including Leiden University, HSL and Gemeente Leiden.

The Faculty of Science is headed by the Faculty Board, consisting of the dean, the vice dean, the CFO and a student representative (assessor). In this role I looked after the interests of students within the faculty in areas like education and services to students.

I have worked in the group of Martina Huber in which I studied the interaction of Alzheimer's peptide with model cell membranes, using EPR (Electron Paramagnetic Resonance) as imaging technique.
