Renaud Visage is the founding technical architect of Eventbrite. With engineering degrees from Cornell University (USA) and Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France), Renaud started his career as an environmental consultant. Fascinated by the Internet, Renaud joined Internet photo-sharing pioneer, Zing Networks, as Director of Engineering in 2000. Zing was funded by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and later acquired by Sony ImageStation. In 2006, he joined forces with Kevin & Julia Hartz to found Eventbrite. Renaud anticipated several fundamental shifts in the way we use the internet – including the arrival of social media, big data analysis, the shift to mobile devices as first screens and the ubiquity of APIs – and leveraged their disruptive power to Eventbrite’s advantage, fueling the company’s growth into the globally leading self-service ticketing platform it is today. In 2014, Renaud was included in Wired UK's Top 100 digital influencers in Europe. When Renaud is not writing code, he’s mentoring and investing in startups in several European countries. Or he is taking pictures somewhere around the world (see his portfolio at http://www.renaudvisage.com).
Eventbrite develops an online platform that lets users find and create events.
Raised $557,250,000.00 from Francisco Partners.
