    2011 - 2011

Following a successful Junior year at UC Berkeley serving as mentor to an at-risk elementary student through Stiles Hall, I was promoted to program coordinator of their Tutoring & Mentoring Program for my Senior school year. Tasked with the: - recruitment of 20+ tutors and mentors amongst the UB Berkeley student body (harder than it sounds) - training of tutors and mentors to help each be a reliable resource to their respective tutees / mentees - day-to-day management of the tutors and mentors (much harder than it sounds) Stiles Hall is a non-profit community service organization located in Berkeley, CA, and maintains an affiliation with the University of California.

  • Intern

    2011 - 2011

Involved with various facets of the organization ranging from local fundraisers to international design and implementation projects, as an intern at EWB-SD. Majority of my time was spent assisting on a rain water harvesting project for implementation in El Salvador. Such an endeavor required our team to design a system that would safely collect and store rain water for later consumption, all while being conscious of local peoples' customs and capabilities.

  • Mentor

    2010 - 2011

Paired with an at-risk fourth grade student from a local Berkeley elementary school, through Stiles Hall's Mentorship program. He and I spent time together working on school assignments and homework, as well as partaking in extracurricular activities and various social outings. We remained in contact for a while following the end of the program. He was quickly becoming quite the flag football star. But unfortunately he and I lost touch after my graduation from the university.
